Our story

Taking the Time Your Recovery Needs

We want to help you reach your goals through education and a clear plan, because a goal without a plan is just a hope.

Vantage Point was established by APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists who had worked in high-volume clinics, where the pressure was on appointment numbers. We wanted time to help people understand their problem and take an active part in their recovery. So we built the opposite: a deliberately low-volume clinic, with longer appointments and the time to explain.

Many of the people we see have complex problems that have not settled with treatment so far, and many first come to us for a second opinion. They want a clear explanation and a say in their plan, not a passive approach. Physiotherapy is often a transaction. We aim to build relationships that are not.

We began as Summit, a nod to the peak each person is working towards. Vantage Point is where you stand to see the whole route: where you are, where you want to get to, and the best way there. Our physiotherapists' job is to plan that route with you and teach you along the way.

That only works when every physiotherapist has the time and support to do it well. Building a low-volume clinic has meant doing things differently from many clinics around us. It is the decision we are proudest of, and one we would not change.

Clinical Care

45-minute appointments, a thorough assessment and a clear explanation of what is going on.

Clinical Education

Teaching physiotherapy students and continuing to train our own team, so the care you receive keeps improving.

Sustainable Health

We keep the clinic deliberately low-volume, so our physiotherapists have the time and energy to do their best work. For you, it means the understanding and the tools to take ownership of your own health, rather than relying on us long term.

Our training

Training You Can Check

APA titling is awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association to physiotherapists who have completed a recognised master's degree or an equivalent pathway in their area of practice. Two physiotherapists on our team hold the APA Musculoskeletal title.

Alongside it, the whole team has trained further in the areas people most often come to us for.

  • APA titling

    Two APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists

David Cohen and Zachary Ehrenfeld are APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, working alongside the rest of our team.

  • Headache and jaw

Watson Headache® Approach and jaw treatment

Our physiotherapists are trained in the Watson Headache® Approach and provide intra-oral jaw treatment, with further training in orofacial dry needling.

  • Dry needling

Dry needling for all body areas

All of our physiotherapists use dry needling, including electrical dry needling, with written consent at your first visit and verbal consent each time.

  • Dizziness and tinnitus

Vestibular care and the Sydney Tinnitus Clinic

We assess and treat dizziness and vertigo, and run the Sydney Tinnitus Clinic for tinnitus linked to the neck and jaw.

  • Sport

Over 30 years of combined experience

Our team has worked with semi-professional AFL, rugby union, swimming, triathlon and basketball.

How we work

What to Expect When You Visit

Every consultation is 45 minutes. The approach is the same whether you are here for a sprained ankle, a stiff neck or tinnitus.

  1. 1

    Listen

A full history of your symptoms, your health and what you want to get back to.

  2. 2

    Assess

A thorough examination, with VALD dynamometry to measure strength where it helps, and screening for anything that needs a medical opinion.

  3. 3

    Explain

What is going on, what to expect and what is safe to keep doing, so you leave understanding your plan.

  4. 4

    Treat

Hands-on treatment, dry needling where it helps, and exercise, progressed by measured milestones.

  5. 5

    Coordinate

We communicate with your GP, surgeon, dentist and other practitioners, and arrange referrals or imaging when it would change your plan.

Our team

  • Led by APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, who review complex cases and second opinions.
  • Trained together, from the Watson Headache® Approach to orofacial and electrical dry needling.
  • Mentored and developed, with a structured program for every new physiotherapist who joins us.

What we are known for

For Problems That Need a Closer Look

Many of the people we see have problems that involve more than one area, or that have not settled with treatment so far, and many first come to us for a second opinion.

Longer appointments, measured assessment and close links with GPs, surgeons and dentists give us the time and the information to work out what is driving them.

We also see everyday aches and pains, sports injuries and rehabilitation after surgery, with the same approach.
